Its the most happiest time of the year! Sean gets time off and takes a long box worth of comics up on vacation with him and he tracks down his favorites of the nearly 100+ comics he read! We also discuss our favorite christmas comics and what makes them so hap hap happy! Bryton Sampson guest hosts for and MIA John. Its pretty intense you may need to pack an extra pair of pants.

In this short film DC Comics resdient Badass Lobo is sent to track down Jolly old Saint Nick. Prepare for the glorious Yuletide Ultra Violence!

Episode 31: Fart Party

Could this be? After reading a few comics recommended by Sean, Henny's girlfriend is now reading comics of her own will. One of her favorite being "Fart Party" by Julia Wertz. This indie comic is a look into life in San Francisco as seen through a beer guzzling, bike riding, sarcastic artist. Filled with humor and heart ache it's a perfect match for those who don't like men in tights, flying around, and picking fights.

Sean's Pick
Marvel Visionaries: Walter Simonson "The Mighty Thor"(starts at 10:00)
There has been much critical acclaim over this series and Sean takes the time to sit down and give it a read. Surprised that this series withstands the sands of time and is just as interesting and relevant today as it was when it was written, Sean give it his stamp of approval. Writer-artist Walt Simonson throws all preconceived notions out the window and over a two-and-a-half-year span produced epic adventure that held an ever-growing readership in thrall.

Simonson weaves a complex series of adventures that shuttle mercilessly from the golden spires of fabled Asgard to the streets of New York City to the farthest stars in the Universe. The entire pantheon of the Aesir was completely reimagined through Simonson's powerful images, becoming both more contemporary while retaining their regal, mythic trappings!!

Jonas' Pick
Blackest Night #5(starts at 28:00)
"Geoff John's is the most powerful man in comic books!" Jonas cries from on high. " Things usually slow down in the middle of a series instead of going completely bonkers. Geoff Johns is changing the DC universe forever! If you are not reading this book you are insane, or you live in a cave."

Special Guest Bryton's
Pick
Chew #7 (starts at 38:45)
It is easy to call "Chew" a one-trick pony. Based on a crazy concept that seems good for one or two issues it can all be said in one sentence. "Chicken is illegal and guy can eats stuff and be a psychic". There is so much more to this scif-fi thriller, they keep piling on more and more weird twists that have yet to be explained. Aliens from space, an author that writes tastes, and chew doing good old fashioned police work? What will they come up with next?

Henny's Pick
Blackest Night: Flash #1 (starts at 52:09)
Sean loves this comic! Starting off with the cover being an ode to Ethan Van Sciver's cover of Flash Rebirth #1. To the fact that Rogues are back baby!

The story takes place shortly after Hal Jordan leaves Earth in an attempt to shut down the Black Lanterns. Left with the fate of the Earth on his shoulders, Barry Allen is spreading the word about the Black Lanterns, making his allies aware of the threat posed by these resurrected acquaintances.

Episode 30: Green Monk

Boy oh Boy!!! It's a humdinger folks! We're especially lucky this week to have special guest artist and creator Brandon Dayton of the indie comic Green Monk in the Warriors Den (TM) to chat about his process and the in's an out's of pushing your own ideas. Also what happens when you really don't know who happens to be writing Superman comes up to say hi. You really don't want to miss out! Check out Green Monk and be sure to help support creator-owned comics.

Jonas's Pick
Flash Rebirth #5(starts at 1:00)
2009's Spike TV scream award winner GEOFF JOHNS Best comic book writer presents! Whew that's a mouthful but it's on every DC Cover... THANKS DC! The greatest threat to face the Flash Family in decades stands revealed! A new hero will step into an old speedster's boots! And Barry Allen will make the ultimate sacrifice: his life! Oh yeah, you read that right, but you'll never believe just what it means! They always say nothing will ever be the same, but trust us, this one will rewrite the history books!

Henny's Pick
Adventure Comics #4(starts at 10:50)
Oh snap! Another Geoff John's book? Really, I couldn't have anticipated that!? So Henny likes this book but hates this book? I'm still unclear about a lot of our picks as of late but Superboy Prime is actually reading a copy of Adventure Comics #4 as are you so your reading a book about Superboy Prime reading the book your holding. It sounds like an out of body experience to me. But he does seem to have a pretty well organized collection of comic books and quite a lot of action figures so I have to cut him some slack. Tha'ts weird superheroes collecting superhero comics? Yea... I dunno.

John's Pick
Rasl TPB #1(starts at 17:50)
Finally something not from DC. Jeff Smith creator of Bone
has been kinda put out of commission with a hand injury that has forced him to really slow his output on books and that's why RASL comes out so infrequently but believe it or not its on a schedule and its just a really messed up schedule. Rasl's an inter-dimesional art thief traveling to and fro in the cosmos with seemingly little issues who has to travel to parallel worlds to save the people he loves.

Sean's Pick
Usagi Yojimbo: Yokai(starts at 22:09)
With the 25th anniversary of the black and white versions of Stan Sakai's antropomorphic samurai ninja the celebration kicks off with the series first ever original painted graphic novel. Miyamoto Musashi, is a wandering swordsman on a warrior's pilgrimage, selling his services from time to time as a bodyguard ("yojimbo") to make his way. Over the course of Sakai's long-running series, Usagi's stories have found inspiration - occasionally direct inspiration - in the films of Akira Kurosawa and the manga "Lone Wolf and Cub." Anyone even remotely interested in Japanese feudal culture should check it out.
